Being over 2000 years old does have some advantages and being able to perfect my poker game is one of them. Here are my top genie poker tips to help you reach the big leagues:
  1. Take advantage of the early rounds - while the bets are low, take advantage to learn about the other player styles and poker tells. Use it to perhaps create a false image of your own style.
  2. Play your chip stack - keep track of how you are in relation to the other players and be aggressive with a larger stack or if you are short stack and the blinds are over three times the amount of chips you hold.
  3. Vary your style or play and betting- keep the other players guessing about your image by varying your style of play during a game (e.g. aggressive -or passive) and how much you bet or raise each time.
  4. Avoid alcohol - even a small drink can effect your judgement and make you do a wrong play. It can also relax your guard and give away your game to the other players.
  5. Learn about poker odds - the final one of my poker tips. The real trick of the professionals is to learn how to balance the size of the pot with your chip stack, everyone elses chips stack, and the odds of currently winning or drawing to a winning hand. Learn this and only chance can get in your way!
